With the sub-freezing daytime temperatures here for the long haul, fly fishing the local high desert lakes comes to a close for 2016. The Blitzen continues to flow at a typical winter flow of 32 cfs this morning, and hitting it with large streamers in the deep holes will be the norm for the next several weeks. While there remains some good winter fishing in Central Oregon and the Owhyee River (please respect the spawning redds there), this is a good time to fill up your fly boxes for spring fishing. Remember, Kiger Creek Fly Shop is happy to do your custom tying!
