Since returning from the coast three weeks ago, I've heard, seen and noted (and smelled) that most of the local stillwaters are not quite in the condition for good trout fishing. Quite a bit of algae, warm surface temps and the overall "green look" are keeping most from casting a line. This said, we are anticipating a good fall fishery once we have a couple weeks of cool weather. Looking ahead, I'm guessing that should take place around the end of September/early October. Once I return from the month-long archery elk hunt, followed by a week deer hunting, I'll be checking out the lakes and will give a report. Until then, we remain in a holding pattern, save that of the brave souls who don't mind the off-putting aroma some of the reservoirs are emitting, or algae coating their flies. :)
No reports on the Blitzen. Bass fishing should be good in waters containing them.
